The Spirit of Prague

Ivan Klíma wrote the following in The Spirit of Prague – For me, the material and spiritual centre of this city is an almost 700-year-old stone bridge connecting the west with the east. The Charles Bridge is an emblem of the city's situation in Europe, the two halves of which have been seeking each other out at the very least since the bridge's foundations were laid. The West and the East.

Home: Leaving and Going

April 28th was a very BIG day in my life. I left home, and came home, all in the space of a few hours. Home is where the toys are, I believe, and a good blanket. Home is where the dads are, and a good toy or forty to chew on. Home is in a quiet small house with no other dogs!

I am a star!

Rewind: It was evening when they came for me. I was a bit shocked that it wasn't just a visit. There I was, post-bath, sleeping with my sister, and the dads were there, waking me up and playing! It was just like any other visit, they were playing with me. And after an hour or so of inside playing, outside playing, drying off, suddenly, I was whisked outside and... Holy Shit, it's a Volvo! I really AM going to Ballard!

The car ride was a blur: there was squirming, and holding, and bumps and turns, a city went by, they rolled the window down for me, and then I was there. Home. It's all new. Smells. Sights. Toys. Crate. Places to eat, play, sleep and poop. New.

They played with me so hard and it got so late, I just passed out. I didn't even notice when I got carried upstairs and put in a crate with my blanket from Angel's. I grabbed a shirt from my new dad, balled it up and went right to sleep. That was a long night, and I slept all the way through.

My first full day in my new life comes next. Until then, This is Trip, and I'm out!
